Oh, how I loved meeting baby Ezra for the first time! I have been waiting for his arrival ALMOST as long as his parents. Walking alongside this family as they did their gender reveal and maternity session with me, I was so excited when I received the call of Ezra’s arrival! I could not get my photography studio in Canton, GA ready fast enough. And let me just say, he was absolutely worth the wait!!

Maternity Session | Erica is Having a Baby!

When you are expecting, there are so many emotions swirling through the air, as well as changes to your body almost daily, it seems. There’s excitement about the miracle that is happening within your body. There is the need to pee constantly. (I know I just heard some amens, LOL!!) There are the outward signs of pregnancy like baby bump, swelling of ankles and other areas, and the curve in the back as baby grows. The crazy cravings. Nausea. And more! It’s no wonder that expectant mamas can feel sickly, large, overwhelmed, and just overall uncomfortable.

Over the last couple of years, I have watched this family go from trying to conceive, heartache, pregnancy, birth, newborn session, milk bath session, nursing session, Christmas session, and then baby’s first birthday smash cake session…plus parties, getaways, and more. This family definitely has a piece of my heart.

Baby's First Year | Smash Cake Session

If you have been to a baby’s first birthday party, you may have witnessed the baby squishing and smashing a small baby-sized cake while a group of their loved ones are standing around, watching the destruction of that beautiful, tiny cake, cheering on the massacre, and just enjoying the overall show of cake droppings, icing smears, cake tossing, etc. It’s quite the spectacle. Favorite Vendor Highlight | Charcuterie Boards

Have you ever tried putting together a charcuterie board? I have. I am a creative. I love creating. I love taking pieces of puzzles and throwing them together, sometimes in unexpected ways, and marveling in the art that was created. Charcuterie boards are no different. Take a little bit of this, a little bit of that, a whole lotta this, none of that…putting all the things together into one beautiful assembly and calling it gorgeous. Family Outdoors Session | The Preston Family

Being a family photographer means being available during those special holidays to capture the moments that are precious to our clients, even during those holidays that are typically busy already (Christmas…I’m talking about Christmas LOL!). Being a newborn photographer is such a rewarding challenge. My studio in Canton, GA allows me to do what I do with confidence. With that said, each newborn studio session is unique. I can employ the same techniques, follow the same steps, and have everything set up the same; however, each baby is a unique individual and has different likes and dislikes, different comfort levels with temperature and positioning, and reacts differently to noises and their surroundings.
